Déjà vu – we all know this feeling too well (or at least most of us have heard of it). That strange, sensation that whispers:
I’ve been here before, I’ve seen you before or have we met? I’ve lived through this exact moment before.
It’s that fleeting familiarity that hits out of nowhere – a blur you can’t quite place. You know it’s familiar, but you have no idea when or where you’ve seen it before. It’s like traveling to a new country for the first time and suddenly recognizing a street corner or a café that feels oddly comforting, as if it’s part of a memory you never made.
“Have We Met Before” is also a song by Sarah Barrios and Eric Nam, released in 2021.
In the song, the two sit across from each other in a coffee shop – strangers, yet somehow connected. Sarah stares at him and feels an unexpected closeness, unsure whether it’s from a dream or a forgotten past. Eric feels it too – the familiarity, the blur, the sense that they’ve been here before.
Pre-Chorus
Swear I feel you in my memory
I think I’ve seen you in my dreams
Maybe you and I have history
But I don’t think you know me
Have you ever experienced déjà vu?
How does it feel for you – like a vivid scene replaying, or just a hazy blur that fades as quickly as it appears?
