After Friday’s unexpected trip to the mall, I thought the rest of my weekend would be a little quieter. I was wrong. On Saturday, my sister’s housekeeper arrived later than expected. Even though we had prepared ourselves early, we still had to wait for her to finish cleaning the house before we could leave.
My sister’s plan for the day was to take me to Ngong, either to Ngong Hills or Ngong Town. She hadn’t decided which one yet. One thing about my sister is that she prefers making decisions on the road. According to her, if we decide while we’re still in the house, there’s a chance the trip might end up being cancelled altogether.
By the time the housekeeper finished cleaning, it was already around noon. We locked up, got into the car, and finally set off. This time, I remembered to carry the speaker. A long drive with good music playing in the background is always a vibe.

I still wasn’t sure where we were heading, so I asked my sister about our destination. She said Ngong Town. Getting there, however, was not as easy as we expected. We were relying entirely on Google Map. At one point, we even considered cancelling the Ngong Town plan and heading to Ngong Hills instead since my sister was more familiar with that area.
Fortunately, she called a colleague from work who lives in Ngong and that changed everything. Instead of wandering around, we ended up visiting her colleague’s home.
The two of them spent some time catching up while I quietly zoned out and enjoyed the break. Before we knew it, hours had passed and evening had arrived.
Around 6 p.m., we said our goodbyes and started thinking about the journey home. My sister doesn’t like driving at night because of her eyesight, so she suggested finding a guest room where we could spend the night.
She asked what I thought, and honestly, I didn’t mind. As long as there was Wi-Fi and a television, I would have survived just fine.
Finding a place proved harder than expected. After searching for a while, my sister gave me two options: continue looking or buy pizza and head straight home.
Pizza won immediately.
With our music playing and the map guiding us, we began the drive back. Along the way, we stopped to buy pizza and chicken for dinner before finally arriving home.

By then, I was hungry and exhausted. Thankfully, unlike Friday, I didn’t have any leftover dough waiting for me in the kitchen. The only thing left to do was take down the clothes that had been drying outside.
After dinner, we called it a night.
Next up: Rest and reflection.
